The world’s largest supermarket chain adds another site to its Australian expansion when it officially launches a new SPAR Express store on the main road into Mooloolaba this month. 19/10/07: Record number of winners at 2007 SPAR Awards A record number of the best performed stores in the SPAR network in 2007 were recognised on October 13 with a Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast. A record number of both suppliers and retailers, the announcement of a record profit and a glowing endorsement of SPAR Australia’s performance by international CEO Dr Gordon Campbell were among the highlights of the company’s 2007 Trade Show and Conference held last weekend. There aren’t many supermarkets where you can do the normal shopping, buy exotic foods from all over the world then takeaway an outstanding Indian meal for yourself and fish and chips for the kids.
