SPAR's Sail 4 Wildlife!

SPAR Australia is excited to announce its special partnership with the fantastic organisation, World Wildlife Sanctuaries, in an effort to protect and preserve Australia's koala population and other endangered wildlife.

SPAR and World Wildlife Sanctuaries will be banding together to support and raise money for WWS's CEO, Peter Steele, in his Guiness World Record attempt to become the oldest person to sail unassisted and continuously around the World!

From the further funds and awareness raised through Peter's brave plight, WWS will plant native eucalyptus trees in rehabilitation sanctuaries for koalas, to help save the animal from extinction. The organisation has also vowed to plant enough trees to offset the total carbon emissions released by all SPAR Australia store - making us the first grocery retailer to be completely Carbon Neutral!

 SPAR Australian Egg Throwing Championships

The SPAR Australian Egg Throwing Championships were held on 11th August 2013 in Ormeau and was a great success. The day was managed by SPAR Chirn Park owner and President of the Australian Egg Throwing Federation, Bernie Low.

The event attracted many attendees who did not mind getting messy for a good cause.

The event also managed to raise substantial funds to donate to the Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation.
