SPAR Australia has a highly experienced management team, most of whom have occupied previous top level roles within the industry, both in independent retail and major companies.
Lou Jardin was appointed Managing Director of SPAR Australia in December 2010. Lou was the Chief Executive Officer of IGA Distribution for Metcash from 2000 to 2010. He has nearly 40 years Industry experience including owning and operating independent supermarkets and holding senior positions within a chain store environment, as well as warehouse and distribution operations. He held a senior position with Coles Myer for 11 years before joining Metcash in 1997 as the National Manager of Company owned stores. In 1998, Lou moved to Queensland as the State General Manager until May 2000. His relationship with SPAR started early on with his family owning SPAR Supermarkets in South Africa. Lou owned his first SPAR store at the age of 19.
National Merchandise Manager
Colin Dwyer was appointed National Merchandise Manager in June 2013. He was previously the Corporate Brand Manager for Fabulous from 2012. Prior to joining SPAR Australia, Colin held various roles in the Sales sector. He has vast experience in the buying role and has gained a lot of his work experience both in Australia and internationally.
General Manager Warehouse & Logistics
Mark McGuinness, joined SPAR in March 2019. Mark has an extensive Operational history within the food industry, for over 20 years owned and ran one of Queensland’s largest and preferred “direct-to-store” Food manufacturing warehouses & logistics businesses servicing the States Retail sector. Mark has also spent several years working with Australia’s two largest Foodservice providers in various key State and National roles.
Retail Operations Manager
Jeremy Keeffe was appointed Retail Operations Manager in September 2020. Jeremy has held several senior roles over a career spanning 39 years, predominantly with Woolworths Supermarkets. Jeremy also has experience gained through being the Operations lead in “Online” retail through his role in the project to bring the 1st “Dark Store” to life in Sydney.
Chief Information Officer
Charles Lombardo joined SPAR Australia in November 2020. Charles brings more than 30 years of experience in managing IT departments to SPAR Australia. Charles’ experience also includes more than 20 years customising and managing Microsoft Dynamics NAV (an inventory, warehouse, sales, distribution and financial management platform) in a number of complex and heavily customised environments.
